Zweigelt
An artificial cross of Blaufränkisch and Sankt Laurent created at the Klosterneuburg Research Centre near Vienna in Austria in 1922, Zweigelt was named after its creator Fritz Zweigelt.
A relatively early variety, prone to powdery mildew and highly productive, Zweigelt is not widely grown in Switzerland.
