Source /
On Saturday, May 20, 2017, thousands of enthusiasts and curious people will walk through the forty wine villages of the canton of Geneva to live a new edition of the open wineries day, the most important annual event of the Geneva vineyards.

Created by the canton's independent winegrowers to encourage the Geneva inhabitants to push the door of the estates, this event quickly found its public. In the early 2000s, organizers sought to reach the cosmopolitan population that resided in the international city. The Open Cellars then became an essential part of the social life in the region.

This event continues to play a didactic role as statistics show that a significant proportion of visitors meet Swiss wine for the first time. This 30th edition will allow seasoned enthusiasts, as well as new comers, to pass through the door of nearly 90 cellars, allowing them to discover a very promising 2016 vintage.

As for the specialties raised in barrels, the excellent 2015 will be also be staged. As each year, free shuttles will link the various wine villages. To find out the list of participating domains and to find the answers to all possible questions, only one address: www.geneveterroir.ch
