The Mid-Autumn Festival in China celebrates the harvest time. For chinese people, this event is almost as important as the Chinese New Year, it also is the second most important holiday of the year. On this occasion Philippe Huser, owner of Napa Wine Bar in Shanghai, shipped 6000 bottles of Swiss wine which will be proposed to his customers on the Bund.

Native of Lavaux, a graduate of the Lausanne Hotel School, and lover of fine wines, Philippe Huser, started into the world of catering with the Napa Wine Bar in Shanghai and in 2013 expanded into wine sales through his company Bund of Wines. The latter includes a real cellar, ideally located on the Bund, which houses the finest wines from around the globe. As part of its international public relation activities, the Board of Vins Vaudois (OVV) has organized several events in May last year. Today, a year and a half later, they are thousands of Swiss wine bottles offered alongside the famous world labels in Shanghai.

The selection of Vaud wines by Philippe Huser during his visit in Switzerland includes the following wines:

  • Es field Cordelières Premier Grand Cru 2014, Mont-sur-Rolle, La Côte, Vincent Graenicher
  • Allaman Castle 2014, La Côte, Schenk SA
  • Delights Pierrot 2014 Féchy La Côte, Pierre-Louis and Thierry Molliex
  • Châtelard Castle, Epesses, Grand Cru 2014 AOC Lavaux, the Clos de la Republic
  • Chasselas Grande Reserve 2013, Villette, Lavaux AOC, Domaine du Daley
  • St. Saphorin Vieilles Vignes 2014, AOC Lavaux, Domaine Bovy

"As a Swiss and particularly as a Vaudois" says Philippe Huser, "it's a pleasure to be able to offer wines from my homeland. "

Custom made wooden crates were made to highlight six particular bottles distributed by Philippe Huser. To launch this promotion, an opening night was held at the Napa Wine Bar, Thursday, October 29, 2015, in the presence of the General Consul of Switzerland in Shanghai, Mr. Alexander Hoffet, the president of the OVV, Pierre Keller, and fifty guests, including several journalists.
