The new version of the VINEA Swiss Wines 2016-2017 APP is now available free of charge for downloading, on the App store and on Google Play.

Sierre, Switzerland – The Vinea Association in 2012 replaced the printed Swiss Wine Guide, the essential reference work for wine-lovers in our country, with a free iPhone app.

The app functions in three languages: French, German and English. The app user can switch app languages without having to change the language of the phone.

The V4 Android app of the Vinea Swiss Wines app as well as the V5 i-Phone app are available on line, as of 26 October 2016.

It has now been downloaded more than 17,000 times: the app is truly a success.

The heart of the app is 500 wine producers who were selected on the basis of their results in the largest wine competitions and/or for their renown – Switzerland’s pride, the best wine producers in the country.

Geolocalization is included, covering all of the wineries. The best-loved features of popular apps are here, such as the option to share on social networks and to create favourites.

The finalists in the 2016 Grand Prix du Vin Suisse wine competition are here. Tasting notes accompany the 36 best wines in the competition.

The authors of the app texts are Emeline Zufferey for the French and Eva Zwahlen for the German version.

The app is for everybody and free of charge.

By january 2017, VINEA will publish the third edition of the booklet, The face of Swiss wine, 60 portraits”, in order to highlight 60 men and women selected from the 500 cellars described in the VINEA App 2016-2017.

The VINEA Swiss wine app and the Face of Swiss Wine brochure were produced with the support of OFAG and Swiss Wine Promotion.
