Make time for Swiss Wine at ProWein 2018

Once again ProWein will open for three days from March 18 through 20, 2018 in Düsseldorf. This international wine trade fair is exclusively reserved for professionals. It has been organized since 1994 by the Messe Düsseldorf Group, and has become, over the years, together with Vinexpo, the major event for international operators and decision-makers in the wine and spirits sector.

The originality of ProWein lies in the fact that its visitors are solely professionals. Half of them represent the wholesale and retail trade, followed by Hospitality specialists. The exhibition is segmented by themes and by country and offers a global and clear vision of the wine industry. Tasting programs and special events complete the exhibition.

This year there will be more than 6,600 exhibitors representing 295 wine regions in 60 countries at the world's largest wine and spirits show. They bring their latest products, from the wine bag-in-box to the champagne at maturity; because the world of wine has long been more than just a new vintage. Exceptional qualities, marketing concepts and a smart portfolio are now key factors for success on the international marketplace.

Switzerland will appear united at ProWein

Last year Swiss Wine Promotion redesigned its presence in Germany. ProWein is no longer conceived as an isolated element during the year but as one major step of a journey that begins with the selection and tasting of wines for the supplement embedded in the German Sommelier magazine published by Meininger in the autumn and republished in February on the eve of the show.

This publication is a great complement to the work of Yvonne Heistermann, sommelier and Swiss Wine ambassador to German catering professionals.

In addition, this year, the IVV is giving 8 deserving young winemakers a chance to discover the reality of the international wine market.
